MIXED REACTIONS AS NIGERIANS VOTE IN PRESIDENTIAL, NASS ELECTIONS

Different reactions have trailed the conduct of ongoing presidential and National Assembly election in some parts of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

Our correspondent gathered that some voters who were moved to newly created polling units in Ward 4 of Ado local government could not find their names in the new units.

In polling unit 14 of the same ward, some voters could not find their names in both unit 14 and unit 34 which was carved out of the old unit 14. 

Also, the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machine failed to accredit some voters in some other units. 

At Polling Unit 2, Ward 4, St Michael Pry School, Ajilosun, some voters also had issues with BVAS which was attributed to poor network.

The affected voters could not vote because they were not captured by the accreditation machine.

Other complaints by voters were administrative. The Presiding Officers, particularly in unit 34, Ward 4, were apparently slow with the issuance of ballot papers.

The voters who were on queue for hours became apparently  impatient having spent several hours in the scorching sun.

The BVAS however seamlessly captured voters for accreditation.
