The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has thanked residents of the state for their overwhelming support for her husband at Monday's flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign in Ado-Ekiti.
Oyebanji, who spoke with journalists shortly after the event, described the massive turnout as a clear endorsement of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.
She said the large crowd reflected the people’s appreciation of the governor’s performance in office.
According to her, the enthusiastic participation of residents across the state shows that the administration’s achievements in its first term have resonated positively with the populace.
“I am deeply delighted by the show of love from Ekiti people. The crowd we witnessed today is a testament to the fact that the governor’s good works are speaking for him,” she said.
The First Lady assured the people that the governor remained committed to fulfilling his campaign promises and had not deviated from the developmental agenda of his administration.
She added that a second term would bring more impactful projects aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and accelerating development across the state.
Other prominent figures at the event also expressed support for the governor’s re-election bid.
They include the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Matters, Mr Sunday Asefon; the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Bolaji Olagbaju; former Ambassador Eniola Ajayi; and an aide to the governor, Mr Tunji Aribasoye.
They commended the administration’s strides, noting that the governor had transformed the state through various developmental initiatives.
The campaign flag-off attracted a large number of party faithful and supporters from different professions and organisations across the state.
They described the turnout as a strong indication of the ruling party’s confidence ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti State.
