The Africa Philanthropy Network (APN) ,a pan-African network of African grant makers has honored former Ekiti State First Lady, Bisi Adeleye- Fayemi with a Lifetime Achievement Award in commemoration of the women's month .
APN is one of the most influential philanthropic networks in the global philanthropic community.
Bisi Fayemi was honored along side Janet Mawiyoo , for their significant contributions to the growth of institutional philanthropy in Africa through their ground breaking work which has involved bridging the resource gaps in communities around the continent.
Bisi Fayemi who has served as a board member, Women's Funding Network, USA, board member Global Fund for Women and Adviser Mama Cash Foundation, The Netherlands was one of the three co-founders of APN in 2009 and served on the board for many years.
The former First Lady was on the Africa Grants Committee as well as a Trustee of Comic Relief, UK for several years. Bisi was also one of the founders of the International Network of Women Funds (Prospera) and served as Co-Chair of the Network.
Bisi Fayemi who has been a role model to women and girls for her great impact on women and girls in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole, received the Women Changing the face of Philanthropy award from the Women's Funding Network, USA in 2007.
She is the 2011 recipient of the David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership award, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of philanthropy. Erelu Bisi Fayemi used her platform as First Lady of Ekiti State to deepen her commitment to the empowerment of women and girls and addressing obstacles that prevent their progress.
