The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has pledged adequate funding of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas across Ekiti State.
Governor Oyebanji who was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye stated that funding the local governments is aimed at propelling the local economy of the state as well as improving the State internally generated reveue.
Oyebanji submited that the State government wouldn't have been able to survive without Local Governments, adding that adequate funding of local governments would bring dividends of democracy to the grassroot people and enable their optimal performances.
Oyebanji reiterated his commitment towards the improvement of all the local governments socio-economic as well as socio-political importance.
Governor Oyebanji however ceased the medium to solicit massive support for the All Progressive Congress Presidential candidate, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu while Commissioning five lock and fifty open shops in Ayebode Ekiti, Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State.
The Governor who described Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a feared and popular figure in Nigeria politics now and in many years to come stated that Tinubu being a candidate of the All Progressive Congress, if elected as president would boost his chances of performance as Ekiti State Governor and would also bring the federal goodies closer to Ekiti citizens while the state would enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Oyebanji charged the local council people to appreciate the good works of the Ajoni Local Council Chairman and reciprocate their loyalty by casting their votes for the APC Presidential candidate to emerge as winner in the February 25 general election so that more dividends would continue to come to the local councils.
Oyebanji assures Ajoni Community of stretching his hands of love towards Ajoni citizens and encouraged them to ensure their support for the chairman towards recording more meaningful success in the community area, adding that the LCDA chairman is a loyal and a trustworthy fellow who had not embezzled their resources but have used it for valuable empirical evidences.
Earlier in his address, the Local Council Development Area chairman, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, appreciated God for availing him the opportunities to serve his community people with the enablement to achieve some success within his one year in office.
Michael Ogungbemi submitted that he was given the grace to construct and Commission four block of classrooms school in the local community development area to promote a condussive learning environment for the students as well as a comfortable working environment for their tutors.
Speaking further, Ogungbemi stated that he was able to achieve the beautiful edifices and commissioning of the 5 lock-shops and 50 open shops in Ayebode town of the LCDA due to divine grace and his determination to serve his community people.
The Chairman added that solar power had been installed in four major cardinal towns of the local government which would provide security lightning that would scare away hoodlums, kidnappers and bandits from penetrating the local council and also maintain peace and tranquility within the communities.
Ogungbemi used the medium to appreciate Ekiti State Government for the unflinching support provided to the Local Council Area.
In the light of the event, Prince Ogungbemi further pledged his full determination to always put the Local Council first in his mind and always ensure that records of good things never ceases in the council during his term in office, he also pledged the support of the Local Council towards achieving remarkable success for Governor Oyebanji's administration.
