EKITI AGILE TRAINS TEACHERS ON DIGITAL LITERACY

74 teachers from 35 selected secondary schools across the state are currently benefiting from the first phase of the Ekiti State Adolescent Girls Initiatives for Learning and Empowerment (Ekiti AGILE) sponsored training- the- trainers Digital Literacy Skills.

The week-long training programme ongoing at JM Tech Ikun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area, is a World Bank supported project targeted at girls education and empowerment.

During her visit to the centre, the Special Adviser on Education, Science and Technology Dr Olabimpe Aderiye admonished the participants to gainfully explore the possibilities derivable from the capacity building presented to them for the benefit of digitising education in the state.

She encouraged the benefiting teachers to dig into their intellectual capacities and come up with digital innovations to solve some of the problems militating against technological education in Ekiti state.

The Project Coordinator of AGILE in Ekiti state, Mrs Oluwayemisi Alokan in her remarks charged the beneficiaries, as trainers of trainees, to be prepared to deliver their best for the upliftment of digital education in the state.

Welcoming the SA and her team, the  Proprietor of the training center, Mr. Olajide  Ajibola encouraged Ekiti Youths to be ICT compliant ,so that they can meet up with their counterparts on digital skills across the globe.

Speaking on behalf of the participants,  Mrs Catherine, Adeyeye, a Computer Teacher from Mary Hill High School, Ado Ekiti appreciated the Ekiti State Government and AGILE project for the opportunity accorded them to advance their technological skills to meet up with the global best practices.
