The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has urged Christian leaders across the state to recommit themselves to the core message of the Gospel and intensify prayers for peace and continuity ahead of the governorship election.
Mrs Oyebanji made the call while addressing ministers and their spouses at the 2026 Ministers and Spouses Conference organised by The Lord’s Basket Outreach in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ado-Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, she described the conference theme, “Recovering the Power of the Gospel,” as timely and significant in a rapidly changing world.
Quoting Romans 1:16, she said the Gospel remained the ultimate instrument of transformation for individuals and society, adding that restoring its power would bring renewal to homes, communities and the nation.
The Ekiti State First Lady also conveyed the goodwill message of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, saying he held the Christian clergy in high regard and appreciated their steadfast spiritual support for his administration.
She commended religious leaders for their consistent prayers, describing them as pillars of strength behind the achievements recorded by the present administration.
According to her, the developmental strides witnessed in Ekiti were largely attributable to God-fearing leadership and divine guidance.
“As we approach the forthcoming governorship election, we humbly covet your continued intercession,” she said.
Mrs Oyebanji also encouraged ministers to leverage technology by organising online prayer meetings, noting that digital platforms offered accessibility and security in uncertain times.
She urged residents of the state to remain security-conscious and vigilant, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding communities.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Dr. Emmanuel Aribasoye, commended the present administration in the state for its commitment to religious activities, noting that such devotion remains one of the vital ways of seeking divine intervention for positive outcomes in all ramifications.
The event drew ministers of the Gospel and Christian faithful from across the state, providing a platform for spiritual renewal, reflection and unity within the Christian community.
