Ekiti Monarch Commends Government's efforts on Road Project and Development Plans in Border Communities

The Obanla of Ipao Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area, Oba Williams Oluseyi, has lauded ongoing infrastructure and development projects in his domain, saying they would boost economic activity and improve access to essential services.


Oba Oluseyi spoke in Ipao Ekiti during an inspection tour of road projects by officials of the Ekiti State Ministry of Works.


He highlighted the ongoing rehabilitation of the Oke Ayedun–Ipao–Oke Ako–Irele–Ijowa road corridor, which stretches to the Kogi State boundary, as a critical project that would enhance connectivity and stimulate socio-economic growth in the area.

“This road will significantly improve movement of people and goods and open up our communities,” the monarch said.


He also welcomed plans to strengthen security in the axis, including the proposed establishment of a divisional police office and a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps unit to protect lives and property.


The monarch said the approval for a general hospital and a magistrate court in the area would improve access to healthcare and justice at the grassroots level.


He added that a primary health facility approved for the community, which is expected to provide free medical services, would bring relief to residents.


Oba Oluseyi,urged residents to support the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji ahead of the governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026.


He called on political actors in the State to maintain peace and abide by the law before, during and after the election to ensure a credible process.


The monarch reaffirmed the commitment of traditional institutions to support government initiatives aimed at improving welfare and strengthening security across the state.
