Prof. Akinwumi ,Ekiti SUBEB Chair To Deliver University of Ibadan's 605th Inaugural Lecture on Thursday

The University of Ibadan will on Thursday ,February 26th host its 605th inaugural lecture titled, “Quality Amidst Quantity: The Paradox of Managing Education in Nigeria.”

The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Femi Sunday Akinwumi, a Professor of Educational Management and Executive Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

According to the university, the lecture, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Trenchard Hall, will examine the challenges of managing education in Nigeria, particularly the tension between expanding access and maintaining quality.

Akinwumi is expected to analyse the paradox of balancing quantity with quality in the nation’s education sector, identify key challenges and opportunities, and propose policy-oriented solutions to improve education management.

The lecture will also highlight practical strategies and best practices for delivering quality education amid rising enrolment and increasing demand.

It is the fifth inaugural lecture of the Department of Educational Management at the university.

The event will be presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, and is expected to attract academics, policymakers, education administrators and other stakeholders.

It is also expected to contribute to ongoing discussions on strengthening education quality in resource-constrained settings.
