The Ekiti State Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD) has trained selected officials from various ministries, departments and agencies on conducting a perception survey to assess public opinion on the performance of the Biodun Oyebanji administration.
Declaring the one-day training, titled “Understanding the Perception of Ekiti People Towards BAO Administration and the Forthcoming Election,” open, the Special Adviser to the Governor and Director-General of OTSD, Dr John Ekundayo, said the initiative was aimed at providing citizens with accurate information about government achievements and ensuring fair assessment as another election cycle approaches.
Ekundayo explained that the participants, referred to as enumerators or champions, are expected to evaluate the performance of the Oyebanji-led administration and help gauge public opinion across the 16 local government areas of the state.
He noted that part of OTSD’s mandate includes monitoring government projects and policies to promote transparency and accountability.
According to him, the programme is designed to obtain feedback from residents and serve as an eye-opener for future projects and programmes that will positively impact the people.
Ekundayo added that deploying enumerators would help validate government projects already uploaded on the OTSD dashboard for public access and assessment.
Some of the participants, including Mr Rotimi Feyisina of the State Ministry of Information and another attendee, Sanni Friday, of the Ministry of Agriculture pledged to carry out the assignment diligently and make effective use of accurate data provided by OTSD to project the government’s activities appropriately.
