Ekiti State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project
(RAAMP) has felicitated the State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on his
recognition as the Governor of the Year by Leadership Newspaper.
Congratulating the Governor, the State Project Coordinator,
Hon Sunday Adunmo said the prestigious media award is a testament to his
exceptional leadership style, unwavering dedication, and remarkable
achievements in transforming Ekiti State into a model of development and
progress.
Adunmo who described Governor Oyebanji as an "addicted
developer," emphasized that the Governor's visionary leadership has
brought about all-round development to every part of Ekiti State.
He noted that under the governor’s watch, the state has
witnessed a significant surge in infrastructural development, boosting both
economic growth and social welfare across rural communities.
Adunmo added that Oyebanji's commitment to sustainable
development has set a benchmark for leadership in Nigeria.
"Under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, the RAAMP
initiative in Ekiti State has made tremendous strides in improving rural
connectivity. To date, over 132 kilometers of rural roads are being constructed,
significantly easing transportation challenges for farmers, traders, and
residents. These roads have opened up rural areas, facilitating easier access
to markets, healthcare, and educational facilities; directly contributing to
the state’s food security and rural development agenda".
"We are also on the verge of awarding an additional 145
kilometers of rural roads. This move is part of the Governor's strategic plan
to further enhance rural infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and
stimulate agricultural productivity. Such initiatives align with his broader
vision of transforming Ekiti into a hub of economic activity and ensuring
inclusive growth that benefits all citizens, especially those in the rural
areas", Adunmo said.
The project coordinator praised Governor Oyebanji for his
unwavering focus on development that transcends mere infrastructure, noting
that the leadership award affirms that Ekiti State under Oyebanji’s stewardship
is on the right path to sustainable development.
