The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has urged students to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their studies, describing education as a pathway to a brighter future.
Oyebanji gave the advice in Ado-Ekiti during the renewal of her scholarship awards to pupils, alongside the distribution of writing materials and cash gifts to selected students under the Widows and Orphans Hope (WAOH) Project.
The WAOH Project is an initiative aimed at promoting academic development and providing support for vulnerable learners across the state.
Represented by the WAOH Coordinator, Dr Kemi Dairo, the First Lady commended the Ekiti State Government for its investments in education, noting that the initiative had positively impacted the lives of many students.
She also charged teachers to intensify efforts towards improving the academic performance of their pupils, adding that unannounced on-the-spot assessments would be conducted in schools.
Oyebanji further urged parents and guardians to closely monitor and support the learning progress of their wards.
In her remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Wife of the Governor on Political Matters, Mrs Toyin Adepoju, commended parents, guardians and teachers for their commitment to education, stressing the need for sustained encouragement to secure a better future for the children.
Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant on Advocacy, Dr Eunice Fasanmi, reiterated that the WAOH initiative would continue to promote social welfare and expand access to education for students.
Speaking on behalf of the benefiting guardians, Mrs Sunmisola Ilori expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the gesture and for the financial support extended to the students.
