EKIRS Rakes in Over N1B in its January IGR

The Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service recorded an unprecedented N1.19B in its January 2023 IGR collection.

This was made known by the Executive Chairman, Mr. Olaniran Olatona during a strategic meeting with the zonal heads of tax stations and heads of departments/units in a bid to build upon the performance.

Mr. Olatona applauded their efforts and urged them not to rest on their oars as this was just the beginning. He likened the revenue journey to a race and enjoined the staff to see it as a marathon, rather than a sprint.

The Executive Chairman urged the staff to be more diligent in their work and to shun all forms of fraudulent activities that may result to revenue leakages.

Mr. Olatona also stated that the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji was equally pleased with the achievement and has pledged his unflinching support to the Service.
