Comr. James Oluwasegun Bankole has emerged as the National Youth Council of Nigeria Ekiti Chapter (NYCN) Chairman.
Bankole, who contested under the umbrella of Catholic Youth Organizations Of Nigeria defeated Mr. Oluwasegun Famuyibo in a rigorous contest.
The Election which took place at the Fajuyi pavilion started at around 1:25pm, ended around 6:02pm. The election that was duly supervised by the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, Department of State Security and Nigeria Police Force, Independent observers and Journalists was adjudged free, fair and credible.
Comr. Bankole polled 109 votes at the election to defeat his closest rival Famuyibo who polled 14 votes.
During the A4 Election delegates were according to the electoral guideline issued by the electoral committee Chairman of the organisation, Comr. Ibrahim Bello and the Secretary, Comr. Funso Balogun, lined up behind their prefered candidate's agent.
The electoral committee represented by the Secretary, Comr. Balogun presented the Certificate of return to Comr. Bankole after declaring as winner, claiming that he has the majority votes and had satisfied all the electoral requirements in tandem with the organisaion's constitution.
He said, "the winner Comr. James Oluwasegun Bankole has met all requirements and is hereby declared winner and returned as the Chairman of this noble organisation.
Bankole who appreciated delegates for the confidence reposed in him through their votes assured that he will delivered on his manifestos, he assured that past mistakes would be corrected and there will be a robust representation of all youth sectors in the state .
Organizations represented at the election ground are the Man o' War, Royal Shepherd, Girls Brigade, Boys Scout, Boys ' Brigade, NASFAT, Ansarudeen, People with Disability,16 LG representatives et Al.
