Ekiti United FC appoints new Head Coach

Ekiti State Sports Council Football Chief Coach, Mr Kehinde Anjorin has been officially named the new Head Coach of Ekiti United Football Club, ushering in a new era at the club.

This news was confirmed by the General Manager, Ekiti State Sports Council, Mr Kunle Adeyemi on Monday, stating that the Board at the club decided on the appointment of the Ekiti born coach at their last management meeting earlier this month.

Mr Adeyemi mentioned that the club communicated their intent and stressed that the appointment of Coach Anjorin was based on merit and one that was needed in order to improve the overall performance of the club in the new football season.

The GM described the newly appointed Coach as a proper professional who brought success to Ekiti football, recently at the 2021 edition of the NYSC DG’s Cup where he led the Ekiti State team to the title and also a good performance at the just concluded RCCG 2022 Jubilee Youth Football Championship in which four players from the team were shortlisted for the RCCG DOVE Football Club.

Mr Adeyemi praised the Coach who is also the Chairman Football Coach Association, Ekiti State chapter, a graduate of the National Institute for Sports and a CAF/NFF Instructor and also wished him well in the next phase of his career.

“Everyone at Ekiti State Sports Council is excited for one of our own, Mr Kehinde Anjorin as he takes up a new role in his career. He has a track record of winning and I am sure this made him the best candidate for the job at Ekiti United FC”.

“He is a professional with an intelligent approach to football coaching and I am certain, this will serve him well in the future”.

The Ekiti born Coach will assume his new role from the 1st of September, 2022 to begin preparations for the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League season.
