The Ekiti State University Lions Club Charter President, Ln. Dr. Michael Afolayan has been officially presented to the Public at the Charter Presentation of the Club where Board of Directors were installed and Members of the Club inducted on Sunday, 30th of May, 2021
At the event, the District Governor, District 404-B2 Nigeria, Ln. Dr. Ademola Ayodele Adesoye who presided over the presentation on behalf of the International President, said one of the Lions international objective is to encourage service-minded men to deploy their time, talents and treasure to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standard in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
The First Charter President of the Club, Dr. Michael Afolayan, while delivering his acceptance Speech said EKSU Lions Club has done the needs assessment of the University community, and outlined the service focus areas for 2021 Lions year which includes various programmes, such as litters in the bin, filling of portholes, provision of foods and funds for indigent students across various Faculties, and paying medical bills of students who are incapacitated to do so and assisting the handicapped students or staff, especially the blinds.
The Guest Speaker, Ln. Professor Patrick Tedela while delivering his lectures at the event said selfless leadership skill and commitment is key in every society without which there cannot be meaningful development
The Ceremony was attended by important Dignitaries across the State which includes Oludayo Olorunfemi, Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Mortgage Board, Princess Iyabode Fakunle-Okieimen, the Hon. Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, and His Royal Highness,Oba Adeleke Adeleye, the Owa of Osun Ekiti.
