Oyebanji Govt Vows No Compromise on Quality as Bureau of Special Projects team Inspects NYSC Camp Projects

 


The Ekiti State Government has warned contractors handling public projects in the state against compromising standards, stressing that substandard jobs will not be tolerated.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, Mr Olubunmi Talabi, made the assertion  during an inspection tour of ongoing renovation and construction works at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Emure- Ise -Orun-Ekiti.


Talabi, who led a team of professionals on the tour, said the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji remained committed to ensuring quality, durability and timely completion of public projects across the state.


"The government will not compromise standards in the execution of projects," he said, noting that quality infrastructure was essential to the safety and wellbeing of residents.


According to him, properly executed projects would enhance the aesthetic appeal of the state, stimulate economic activity, safeguard lives and property, and ensure value for money.


The ongoing works at the camp include renovation and construction of accommodation for corps members, administrative offices, lecture and multipurpose halls, dining facilities, kitchen blocks, staff quarters, roads, drainage systems, water supply, electricity infrastructure, solar lighting, recreational areas and other amenities required for effective orientation and training.


Talabi said the Oyebanji administration was determined to transform the camp into one of the best in Nigeria when completed, providing corps members posted to the state with a safe, comfortable and conducive environment throughout their orientation programme.                                   





The Special Adviser expressed satisfaction with the quality of work so far executed at the NYSC camp, noting that the project was progressing in line with approved specifications and the stipulated delivery schedule





. 


He assured that the government would sustain regular monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure compliance with approved specifications and standards.


Talabi urged contractors to adhere strictly to project specifications and deliver within the stipulated time, adding that the government would take necessary measures against any contractor found compromising quality.


He said the exercise was part of the administration's commitment to ensuring that public funds were judiciously utilized and that projects delivered met the required standards.
