The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Coordinator for Ekiti State, Mr Kolade Peters, and the General Manager of Adamimogo FM, Ido-Ekiti, Mr Bayo Babalola, have visited EbiNla 102.3 FM following a lightning strike that destroyed broadcast equipment estimated at ₦500 million at the Station
Peters, who visited the station on behalf of the NBC leadership, expressed solidarity with the management and staff and assured them of the Commission's continued support.
He also prayed for the provision of resources needed to replace the damaged equipment and restore the station to full operation.
The NBC coordinator held discussions with the station's management and departmental heads to assess the extent of the damage and explore possible pathways towards restoring broadcast operations.
Receiving the NBC official, the Chairman of EbiNla Radio, Mrs Toyin Agbaje, alongside the General Manager, Mr Tope Asejire, thanked the Commission for the visit and encouragement.
Agbaje described the gesture as a morale booster for the workforce, urging staff members not to be discouraged by the setback.
She assured that the station would abide by professional guidance from the NBC and emerge stronger from the incident.
Also visiting the station, Babalola expressed sympathy on behalf of the management and staff of Adamimogo FM, describing the incident as a loss not only to EbiNla Radio but to the wider broadcasting community.
He expressed confidence in the resilience of EbiNla Radio and wished the station a swift technical recovery and early return to the airwaves.
Responding, Mr Agbaje Malomo, Chief Executive Officer of EbiNla Radio, and Asejire appreciated the gesture, saying the visits demonstrated the spirit of brotherhood, cooperation and mutual support among broadcasters, particularly during challenging periods.
The management appealed to EbiNla Radio's listeners to remain patient and assured them that efforts were underway to restore operations and return the station to the air stronger.
