Ekiti Ex-HoS Tasks Mechanical Engineers on Professionalism, Efficient Service Delivery

A former Head of Service in Ekiti State, Engr. Sunday Komolafe, has urged mechanical engineers in the public service to uphold professionalism, innovation and an effective maintenance culture in order to enhance service delivery.

Komolafe gave the charge while delivering a lecture titled "The Strategic Role of the Mechanical Engineering Department in Public Service Delivery" at a workshop organised for officers of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Ekiti State Ministry of Works, in Ado-Ekiti.

He described the Mechanical Engineering Department as a critical component of government operations, noting that effective maintenance of public infrastructure, machinery and equipment is indispensable to efficient service delivery and sustainable development.

The former Head of Service urged engineers and technical officers to embrace continuous capacity building, integrity, diligence and modern engineering practices to meet the evolving demands of public service.

According to him, professionalism, teamwork and accountability are essential values that will not only improve productivity but also strengthen public confidence in government institutions.

Earlier, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Engr. Amos Ilesanmi, reaffirmed the department's commitment to organising regular capacity-building programmes aimed at promoting efficiency, innovation and improved service delivery across the public service.

Ilesanmi described the lecture as timely and insightful, expressing confidence that it would enhance the technical competence and professional capacity of officers in the discharge of their duties.

He commended Komolafe for accepting the department's invitation to share his wealth of experience with participants.

The workshop attracted more than 50 officials of the Ministry of Works, who actively participated in the interactive session and commended the organisers for the valuable insights gained.
