Ekiti Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Infrastructure, Inspects Indoor Sports Complex Project

The Ekiti State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the development of critical infrastructure aimed at boosting the state’s economic and social growth.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, Hon. Olubunmi Talabi, made this known in Ado-Ekiti while leading a team of professionals to conduct quality control and assurance inspections on materials procured for the ongoing indoor sports complex project.



Talabi said the administration places high priority on infrastructure development as a key driver of progress noting  that the Oyebanji administration is currently undertaking the rehabilitation of the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, alongside the construction of a modern Ekiti Indoor Sports Hall as  part of the state government’s efforts to promote the overall well-being of the people. 


He stressed  that the two sports facilities will also serve as platforms for youth empowerment and talent development when completed.


According to him, sports play a vital role in improving the physical and mental well-being of the populace, while also creating opportunities for young people to develop their talents.


Talabi added that the initiatives are aimed at expanding sporting opportunities and encouraging recreational activities for improved physical fitness.


The Special Adviser further stated that the indoor sports complex is specifically designed to benefit the youth population by enhancing their physical and mental development.


He assured that the state government would not compromise on quality standards, stressing that continuous supervision would be carried out at every stage of the project to ensure compliance with approved specifications.


Talabi commended the contractor for the level of work done so far and urged timely completion in line with project specifications.


He noted that, upon completion, the facility would serve as a hub for various indoor sporting activities, bringing together youths across the state.


Talabi, therefore, charged the contractors handling the project to remain committed and ensure that the vision of making the sports complex one of the best in the country is achieved
