Ekiti Disburses N50 Million Innovation Fund to 300 Youths

The Ekiti State Government has disbursed over  N50 million to about 300 youths under its Innovation Enterprise Support Fund to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation.

Presenting cheques to the beneficiaries on behalf of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ado-Ekiti, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Niyi Adebayo, said the initiative was aimed at supporting innovative ideas and helping young people build sustainable businesses.

Oyebanji urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and disciplined in managing the funds to achieve the objectives of the programme.

In his remarks ,the State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, Mr. Seun Fakuade, said the initiative was a structured programme that combines funding with training, mentorship and accountability.

Fakuade noted that the support would enable beneficiaries to develop impactful solutions, create employment opportunities and contribute to the economic growth of the state.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Segun Alebiosu, represented by the Business Manager, Public Sector, Ekiti, Mr. Adebayo Yacoub, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the beneficiaries.

He described the bank as a partner in transformational development and advised the youths to remain disciplined and utilise the funds effectively in building their enterprises.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr. Favour Adebayo, Mr. Samuel Kayode and Miss Adeola Aderonmu, expressed appreciation to the state government and pledged to make judicious use of the support.

The Innovation Enterprise Support Fund is part of the state government’s efforts to drive youth empowerment, enterprise development and inclusive economic growth.
