Ekiti SUBEB Equips Staff with Digital Tools to boost staff efficiency and Improve Basic Education Delivery.

The Executive Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Femi Akinwumi, has flagged off  the distribution of computer hardware and accessories to staff of the board.


Prof. Akinwumi said the multi-million-naira items which procured by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in collaboration with the Ekiti State Government were provided to enhance staff productivity and improve efficiency in the discharge of their duties.


He commended Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for paying the required counterpart funds to UBEC, which made the procurement possible.

According to him, the intervention will significantly strengthen the board’s operational capacity.


The SUBEB chairman also highlighted other initiatives by the state government to improve basic education, including the provision of furniture, construction and renovation of classrooms, supply of instructional materials and regular promotion of teachers.


He urged staff of the Physical Planning Department to make proper use of the equipment and remain consistent in monitoring projects across the state.

“These materials are meant to aid your efficiency and enhance your productivity,” he said.


“As you supervise projects and monitor contractors, you must not compromise quality. Ensure that all projects are executed according to specification.”


The Permanent Secretary of the board, Michael Omolayo, commended the chairman for ensuring staff have the tools needed to perform their duties effectively.


He encouraged beneficiaries to make maximum use of the equipment to improve productivity.


The items distributed include 12 laptops, six printers and 30 tablets.


The board said the initiative forms part of efforts to improve staff efficiency and strengthen the delivery of quality basic education in Ekiti State.
