Capital Flight: Ekiti Governor's Wife Solicits Patronage for Indigenous Artisans

Wife of Ekiti State Governor Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has appealed to local contractors and other well-to-do individuals in Ekiti State to patronize indigenous artisans  to discourage capital flight.

The Governor's wife made the call in Ado Ekiti while receiving the Ekiti State Caterers Association of Nigeria and the Ekiti Women wing of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN).

Dr Oyebanji said given jobs to non indigenes would have multiplier effects on the state's economy, adding that such capital flight could be prevented if the caterers and other artisans within the state were put into consideration. 

Earlier, the Chairperson of the Caterers Association, Mrs Stella Abiodun-Akinola had emphasized the commitment of the group to the present administration and the people of the state.

She solicited for more synergy with the government to further enhance the ongoing all-round development in the state.

In another development, the First Lady has promised to be one of the major promoters of the women wing of AFAN to ensure they are captured in various Agricultural policies and programmes of government.

In her own remarks, the leader of the women farmers Mrs. Pereao Omolola  called for security of farmers to reduce herdsmen invasion on farms and empowerment of members to achieve their set objectives.

She promised that the Association would continue to maintain standard as well as contributing its quota to the economic development of the state.
