The Adolescent Girls initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) has held sensitization programme of AGILE project on Wednesday, 17th of August , 2022
The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi while addressing the gathering said local government chairmen and council Development areas should monitor AGILE project for optimal performance.
Bisi Fayemi stated this in Ado Ekiti at a sensitization meeting of AGILE activities which she had with Local Government Chairmen and the wives of the council Chairmen at the Aduni Olayinka Women Centre .
The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment(AGILE ) project is a world Bank assisted project, being embarked upon in seven states of the federation including Ekiti to create conducive learning environment for secondary school girls .
The Governor's wife called on the local government stakeholders to partake in all programmes and activities outlined for the improvement of learning conditions of all existing schools. She admonished them to set up the Gender Based Violence Committees in their various Local Government Areas and replicate activities of the State Gender Based Violence Management Committee in their communities.
The Project Coordinator of AGILE in Ekiti State, Mrs Oluwayemisi Alokan in her remarks explained to the gathering the various components of AGILE project and their functions.
The Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation in Ekiti State,Mr. Akin Omole Esq. ,while speaking said AGILE activities should be disseminated in all nook and crannies of Ekiti State,to enable people at the grassroot level know more about AGILE activities
The Chairperson, Wives of Council chairmen and wife of Efon local government chairman, Mrs Ebunlomo Adetunji lauded the past and present programmes of the wife of the governor promising that all needed support would be given to AGILE project and other initiatives of the Governor’s wife at the grassroots .
