Akinlabi's appointment, blessing to media industry - Ekiti NUJ

  

The Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has described the appointment of Mr Tunde Akinlabi as Secretary to Ido/Osi local government as a blessing to the media industry.

In a congratulatory message co-signed by the Union chairman Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela and his Secretary Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, the Union affirmed Akinlabi's competence, describing him as a thoroughbred journalist who is capable of handling the task ahead of him.

While praying God to grant Akinlabi the wherewithal to succeed, the Union charged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Governor and party leaders who nominated him.

The Union also commended the State Governor,  Dr. Kayode Fayemi for appointing her member into such a prestigious position.

The statement reads: "We appreciate our media-friendly Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi for yet another opportunity for one of our own. It is not out of place to say that journalists have enjoyed special preference in the government of Dr. Fayemi and this is marvelous to us".

Until this appointment, Mr Akinlabi was the reporter of Adaba FM in Ekiti State.
